Chemical Engineering underpins the design and operation of the processes that shape modern society.

From the production of materials and chemicals to energy systems, water treatment, and food processing, chemical engineers design, analyse, and optimise the processes that enable modern life. Cyprus University of Technology offers the first MSc in Chemical Engineering in Cyprus, to provide advanced training in core chemical engineering principles, building on undergraduate foundations to develop high-level analytical, modelling, and problem-solving skills.

Chemical engineers are at the forefront of the global transition to sustainable and circular systems.

Modern industries are being reshaped by the need to use resources more efficiently, reduce waste, and transition to low-carbon and bio-based solutions. This programme equips graduates with the engineering tools required to integrate sustainability and circularity into process design and decision-making, preparing them to respond to evolving industrial, environmental, and societal challenges.

This MSc prepares graduates for impact in industry, research, and innovation.

Designed for graduates with a strong scientific background, the MSc in Chemical Engineering equips students with advanced competencies for careers across industry, research and development, and further doctoral studies. The curriculum combines rigorous chemical engineering training with exposure to emerging application areas, while its flexible structure and hybrid delivery are designed to accommodate working professionals and overseas students, enabling diverse learners to engage with the programme without compromising academic depth or quality.

Program Goals:

The MSc program aims to train professionals wishing to develop a diverse knowledge base in Chemical Engineering, offering the potential for specialization in the interface between circular economy, biological processes, and sustainability. The specialization in Circular (Bio)Economy contributes to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the UN. Thus, the MSc program offers the opportunity for Cyprus to contribute towards the major global effort to achieve the SDGs for a better and more sustainable future for all.

Key Characteristics:

The MSc programme is delivered in a blended (hybrid) format, combining online teaching and digital learning materials with opportunities for on-campus, face-to-face participation, suitable for working professionals. Students may follow the programme fully online or choose physical presence on campus where appropriate.
